MusicDNA
Chicago programmer/composer Justin Sante has an ambitious project: a web application that allows even complete beginners to make music of beauty and complexity. His new approach to music composition needed a friendly and eye-catching informational site to get the message out and spread word of MusicDNA. The design combines musical and genetic imagery. Starting with a monochromatic stock photo of sequenced DNA, I built up layers of varying transparency and saturation to create a background pattern that suggests both genes and levels readouts on musical equipment.
