Floating World Tumblr Theme
For a long time, I'd wanted to do a design with imagery from Japanese woodblock prints. For an equally long time, I'd wanted to create a site where the visitor could change the background scenery and weather. Thus: this experimental tumblr theme, which uses graphic elements cut out from scans of prints by Hokusai and Hiroshige. These elements are layered in parallax fashion so that, if the visitor resizes the browser window, interesting things happen—a little easter egg inspired by Silverback. Don't like the weather? Use the little sidebar scenery picker to pick something more agreeable.
